Rooted in Community,
Growing Together
Zewditu Meshesha emerged from a deep understanding that the Ethiopian and Habesha community faces unique health disparities, limited access to outdoor recreation, and career development gaps. Our founders recognized that these challenges require culturally grounded solutions led by community members themselves.
Today, we operate three flagship programs in health equity, outdoor access, and youth career development, working with community professionals, volunteers, and partners to create lasting impact.

Led by Afro Habesha Outdoors
Afro Habesha Outdoors is leading the way in expanding access to Colorado's natural spaces for the Ethiopian and Habesha community. Together, we're expanding opportunities for Ethiopian and Habesha community members to experience and enjoy Colorado's natural spaces from the mountains to the trails building lifelong connections to the outdoors, from the mountains to the trails.

Who We Serve
Our Community
in Colorado
Colorado is home to a growing Ethiopian and broader Habesha community, with many families living in Aurora and along the East Colfax corridor.
We primarily serve community members in Northwest and Central Aurora neighborhoods, vibrant immigrant communities with strong social, cultural, and faith-based networks.
We work within these communities to support individuals and families through culturally grounded programs that promote health, wellness, leadership, and opportunity.
