In Honor Of
Zewditu Meshesha
"Emama Zewditu," Mother of the Forgotten. A woman who gave everything so that children with nothing could have a future.
A Life of Service
"She sold her house and her two automobiles to care for children who had nothing. Not because she had much to give, but because she could not walk away."
Since 1991, Zewditu Meshesha has fostered over 250 orphaned and vulnerable children in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, using her own resources, her own home, and her own heart. What began with 26 displaced children she encountered on a trip grew into the Zewditu Meshesha Children and Family Welfare Development Association, an institution that has helped dozens earn university degrees and build lives of their own.
We are honored to share her story and inspired by the depth of her compassion.
